Data Deletion Instructions
You may request deletion of information associated with a Threads account that has been connected to Threads Content Manager.
Option 1 — Remove access through Meta
You may revoke the Application's access from the connected Meta/Threads account settings. Revocation prevents the Application from continuing to use that account's authorization token.
Option 2 — Request deletion from the Application
Open our Support page and contact support. Include:
- the Threads username associated with the request;
- the words “Data deletion request”;
- if available, the account or app-scoped user ID shown by the Application.
For security, we may ask you to verify that you control the connected account before completing deletion.
What we delete
After a valid request is verified, we delete or de-identify account-specific information that is no longer required, including:
- stored OAuth access tokens and token metadata;
- Threads account linkage and account-specific settings;
- account-specific network connection settings, when applicable;
- app-generated logs and history that can reasonably be linked to the deleted account, subject to limited security and legal retention needs.
Content files
Content files that belong exclusively to a removed account may be deleted on request. Shared content pools used by multiple authorized accounts are not automatically deleted when one account is removed unless the material itself qualifies as personal data associated with the requester.
Processing time
Verified deletion requests are normally completed as soon as operationally practical and no later than 30 days after verification, unless a longer period is required by law.
Confirmation
When deletion is completed, support can provide confirmation through the same contact channel used for the request.
